Lawyers' Professionalism: What Does it Mean in Everyday Practice?

In order to give substance to the concept of professionalism and make it integral to daily practice, lawyers need to spend time thinking about the principles in a practical context. By applying creeds or standards of professionalism in vignettes involving familiar, everyday situations, lawyers can gain an appreciation for the difficulties encountered in attempting to adhere to standards of professionalism in the real world. TIPS has accordingly developed a set of nineteen hypothetical problems which illustrate a number of these situations and the problems and questions which they provoke, and has also prepared a Discussion Leader's Manual.
